Hi, my name is Judy Seils.

Thank you for visiting the Pawfect Manners website. I hope you'll take a few moments to look around and maybe learn something you didn't know. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

I worked in the Veterinary industry for over 20 years and have been teaching basic dog obedience since 2002. Currently, I am a trainer at Petco.

Prior to starting Pawfect Manners, I apprenticed with Barbara West (formerly of WestOak DTC) and then took over her classes after health issues made it difficult for Barb to teach.

My goal is to give you the tools and skills you will need to teach your pet(s) now and in the future. I use conditioned reinforcement techniques like clicker training in my classes because this scientific approach is 45% faster than 'traditional' training methods.

Shiloh is my spayed female, mix breed dog that I adopted in 2004 when she was 10 weeks old. She started clicker training right away. Shiloh assists me in each class, offering distractions or demonstrating behaviors. Shiloh and I also participate in Canine Freestyle (dancing with your dog) and Flyball (dog drag racing).

I adopted Shiloh's brother, Pecos, in 2009. He was about 1 1/2 years old. I started clicker training him right away and he is also learning Flyball. Pecos is only ten pounds, but thinks he's much bigger. We are working through his issues which include chasing and lunging at other dogs. Mostly he just wants to play, but he's very pushy with other dogs. This behavior can be managed, but takes time and consistency.

Please drop me a note if you enjoyed this site or if you have any questions about classes or any other pet related questions. I'll be glad to help.

Thank you,
Judy Seils, Shiloh, & Pecos
